BMW i3 Phone Mount
This mount is designed to fit either on the right or left of the dash. If you didn’t know, there is a lighter plug under the dash, this mount will go just to the right or left of that plug, making this the ideal mount for using with a chargable base (not included).
Installation
- The Phone mount comes pre-installed with two pieces of 3M VHB (very high bond) tape. The tape is optional, especially the under dash piece, but provides protection to your under dash area from scratches.
- If you choose to use the 3M VHB tape, please make sure you’ve tested your mount in the proper place and side before pulling the red off of the tape.
- 3M VHB tape can be easily removed if you wish to remove the mount, however it will not be reuseable (you’ll need to provide your own should you move it).
- Removing 3M VHB tape can be done with your fingers and all residue should come off.
- If the ball size does not directly match your existing phone mount, there is an included TPU-based washer that can be inserted into the ball receiver prior to tightening. If one washer doesn’t work, you may also try pieces of rubber band.

FAQ
Q: Are the phone mounts resistent to heat?
A: Mounts are printed with carbon-fiber infused PETG. The glass transition temperature of PETG ranges from 80-95°C (185-194°F). If you live in an outdoor area where temperatures are frequently above 40°c (104°F), this may permit the heat in your car to build beyond close to this point which could result in softening/warping. We attempt to combat this by using a more dense infill, as well as increased wall count, however if you are in a very warm climate, these may not be for you, however the VHB tape (not on all models) should help them stay in place even if warping occurs. If you experience problems, please contact us.
